Head Coach - Girls 12 National
Now in her eleventh year of coaching, Coach Laura Stevens has over 20 years of volleyball experience and has coached players ranging from twelve to eighteen years of age. She was a two-sport, all-conference athlete in volleyball and basketball in high school and led her college volleyball club team to the championship her senior year.
Laura has been a head coach in USAV since 2005. Previously she coached with NVVA where she coached 15s, 14s and 13s. She took her 13s teams to consecutive #2 rankings in the region and a trip to the Junior Olympic Nationals in 09. From 2010-2011, Laura was the JV Head coach at Loudoun County High School and was the Freshman head coach in 2009. Over those 2 years at Loudoun County, her teams have accomplished an impressive 54-0 record. She is also an Assistant Coach from 2009 to 2011 for the 4-time AA State Championship Varsity team at Loudoun County High School. While she has had the privilege of coaching many successful teams and talented athletes in Northern Virginia, her coaching philosophy is to see athletes find success and fun in working hard to improve as a volleyball player and accomplish their personal and team goals.
Coach Stevens is ASEP, VHSL, Impact and CAP I certified. She is also Gold Medal Squared trained.

Head Coach - Girls 13 NationalCoach Williams started her volleyball career at Northside High School (in Louisiana), where she fell in love with the sport. After high school, Coach Williams joined the military where she continued playing in Germany. She started coaching a house team in 2004 when her oldest daughter started playing. Coach Williams has been coaching at Edison High School for over 5 years, working with the Freshmen, JV, and Varsity teams. She now coaches at Robert E Lee High School. Coach Williams enjoys coaching this sport just as much as she enjoys playing. She believes in working smarter on the floor not harder.

Assistant Coach - Girls 13 National
Coach Kennedy is in her 2nd year coaching with Braddock Road Volleyball. She developed a love for volleyball during her freshmen year of high school in Nebraska. She has played as often as she could ever since. Coach Kennedy played intramural volleyball while attending Lewis & Clark College in Oregon. She worked with her teammates on their fundamentals so the games were not only fun, but also successful. While teaching in Connecticut, Coach Kennedy worked with the middle school volleyball team taking any role that the coaches needed. She worked with the student athletes to develop their sense of work ethic on the court and in the classroom to ensure their success in both areas.

Head Coach - Girls 14 National
Coach Mike Coffey is excited to be coaching his first season with Braddock Road Volleyball Club! Coach Coffey has been coaching high school, club, clinics and women's teams for years and has decades of playing experience at a competitive level with his best finish to be 2nd place in Open.
Coach Coffey started playing volleyball 20 years ago and fell in love with the sport. He started his coaching career at Robert E. Lee High School coaching the Junior Varsity team, and assisting the Varsity team which won back to back District Champion titles. He also has coached club for Virginia Elite and Springfield Youth Club on top of volunteering and coaching clinics for the Fairfax Volleyball Club.
Coach Coffey continues to play volleyball on a regular basis on various leagues, programs, tournaments, and is known to be a stand out setter.
Coach Coffey is IMPACT certified.
Assistant Coach - Girls 14 National
Coach Leskanich is returning for her third year of coaching with Braddock Road after assisting with the 15-National team last year and the 16-1 team the year before that.
Somya also played for BRYC during her sophomore and junior high school club seasons. She was a 3 year member of the Robinson Varsity Volleyball team and earned Honorable Mention All-District team in 2012. Currently, Somya is playing as a MB/OPP for the Women's Volleyball Team at Northern VA Community College. Coach Leskanich will be able to focus on training all aspects of net play from blocking to quick attacks.
Head Coach - Girls 14 American
Coach Green has been an assistant coach for the freshman team at Fairfax High School for two seasons, Head Coach for freshman for two season and the JV Head Coach for 5 season. Coach Green had 4 season as an NVVA coach, having coached both the 15’s and 16’s team. He has 30 years of volleyball experience as a coach, referee and a player. While attending High School, he played basketball, volleyball and football and then later played intramural volleyball during college. During his 21 year military career with the U.S. Army, he continued to play volleyball at various levels. He also played Club level volleyball both in Germany and in the D.C. area.
Coach Green ensures that his players receive excellent coaching to improve their volleyball skills and to learn to work together as a team. Coach Green’s goal is to provide players with developmental guidance in order to improve their core volleyball techniques and to increase their overall volleyball skills, while still having fun competing, so that every player realizes their full competitive potential.
Coach Green's many years of experience in sports, combined with his military background, have taught him that a good offense is great, but a very strong defense makes all the difference during close competition. He believes that training very hard on defensive skills ensures a strong offense. That is why his practices concentrate on defensive skills. He spends a lot of his free time volunteering and coaching any and all who wish to learn or improve their skills in volleyball. Volleyball is a passion with him and he believes it is a coach’s responsibility to share their knowledge and skill with the new generation of players.
When Coach Green is not coaching volleyball, he works as a Federal Police Officer for Homeland Security assigned as a government employee for the Department of the Army. He lives in Woodbridge, VA.

Head Coach - Girls 15 National Elite
This is Greg's seventh year of coaching junior girls and his fifth consecutive year coaching in BRYC. Last year, he co-coached the 14 National team with Coaches Phil and Caitlin Oshida. Greg will join Coach Phil again this year to co-coach Braddock Road’s 15 National team. They look forward to coaching together again. Like Phil, Greg emphasizes not only learning sound volleyball skills but playing smart. He enjoys seeing his players improve throughout the season and having fun as they learn new skills and considers coaching a privilege.
Greg, Phil, and Caitlin have been playing volleyball together for over 10 years and Greg and Phil play on a USAV adult teams and in recreational leagues. Greg starting playing volleyball in college and has played USAV adult men’s volleyball in the Ohio Valley Region and the Chesapeake Region and has played in the US Adult Open Volleyball Championships several times. He also plays in several local volleyball leagues and during the summer he plays in several doubles grass and sand volleyball tournaments.
Greg is IMPACT and CAP I certified.
Head Coach - Girls 15 American
Coach Lacey started out playing volleyball in the Jersey Shore Volleyball Association (JSVBA), playing in double beach tournaments where he won tournaments at both the BB and A level. He quickly fell in love with the sport. Wanting to play more, Coach Lacey took his beach game to the indoor leagues. When he was transferred back to the DC area for his final duty assignment, Coach Lacey was hired as the head coach of the freshman volleyball team at Hayfield Secondary where he has enjoyed an overall record of 33-9 over his three seasons of coaching. He was promoted to the head coach of the JV team the following year. Upon the departure of the freshman coach Coach Lacey went back where he was needed most and is coming off a 14-3 record for 2014 Freshmen High School season. Coach Lacey has 2 years club coaching experience with Evolution Volleyball Club as the head coach of a 17-2 team and 14-2's team. He has had two successful years coaching the 17-2 and 18-1 BRYC teams.
Coach Lacey has recently retired from the US Coast Guard after 30 years of active duty service. He continues to play volleyball.

Joe has been passionate about playing volleyball since the dark ages of the early 1980s, when he played outside hitter and middle blocker in college. Coach Joe began his coaching career at BRYC 10 years ago. Since then, Joe has coached middle school and high school volleyball teams in recreation, club and high school programs, most recently as the Head Coach of the 2013/2014 BRYC 15 Regional Team, Head Coach of the W. T. Woodson JV team, and Assistant Coach of the back-to-back Patriot District Champion W. T. Woodson Varsity team in 2012. Joe is USAV IMPACT and CAP I certified, and Gold Medal Square trained.
His coaching philosophy is to develop in players a lifelong passion for volleyball, by modeling and teaching advanced individual skills and team dynamics; to instill in them the value of hard work, competition, integrity, loyalty, self-control, trust, communication, and mutual respect; and to provide them with opportunities to pursue excellence, set and achieve personal goals, take risks, be responsible for their choices, and win and lose graciously. He loves teaching the game and is thrilled to be coaching the BRYC 16 National team this season.
Joe has been married to Lois for 28 years, and is the proud father of Jon, Becky, and Rachel. When not coaching or watching his daughters play volleyball, Joe is a partner at FedCentric Technologies, LLC, a hardware and software systems integrator.
Assistant Coach - Girls 16 National
This is Becky's first year coaching for BRYC. Becky played high school, club and college volleyball starting with her freshman year at W.T. Woodson High School in 2006. At Woodson, she earned two-time All District honors, All Tournament Team honors and Northern-Region honorable mention as an outside hitter. She was named the team MVP her senior year in 2009, where she set (and still holds) the Woodson single-season kill record. She played club volleyball at NVVA for four seasons, and her 18s team earned a bid to USAV Nationals.
She played outside hitter at the University of Mary Washington for two seasons before retiring due to injuries, and transitioning to beach volleyball for two years, where here team went undefeated in both seasons.
Becky graduated from UMW in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. She has been an active volunteer coach for the past 4 seasons, assisting at high school and club practices, camps and clinics, Her other hobbies include swimming, water polo, Harry Potter marathons (books and movies), and doing 1000+ piece puzzles.
Head Coach - Girls 16 American
Coach Mark Thompson has been the BRYC Volleyball Commissioner since 2004. He has 25+ years of volleyball experience as a player and coach. Coach Thompson started his volleyball career by representing Central New York in the Scholastic Division of the Empire State Games in 1982. He then went to Cortland State where he played Football, Track & Field and Volleyball.
After graduating from Cortland State, Coach Thompson played RS Hitter on a men's Club Team in Bronxville, NY before moving to the Mid Atlantic area in 1993. After playing a couple of years on a men's USAV Club Team in Northern VA, Coach Thompson was introduced to Doubles Volleyball where he has played in many MAV and Columbia Double tournaments over the years.
In 2002, Coach Thompson started his coaching career by coaching his eldest daughter with the BRYC program. Wanting to help volleyball grow in Fairfax County, Coach Thompson volunteered to become Commissioner of BRYC Volleyball. In late 2007 Coach Thompson, along with Coach Davis, expanded BRYC into Club volleyball. Coach Thompson was the assistant varsity volleyball coach at Fairfax High School in 2011. He is looking forward to many more successful volleyball seasons with the Braddock Road Volleyball Club.

Assistant Coach - Girls 16 American
Coach Franjie started her volleyball career as a youth in the BRYC Volleyball recreation program. She continued playing volleyball for Metro American Volleyball Club’s 15’s and 16’s division before returning to Braddock Road Volleyball Club as a setter/Right side hitter on the 17’s Club team. Coach Franjie was a 3 year varsity player as a setter, Right side and Libero for Annandale HS.
Coach Franjie coached two years for FPYC recreation volleyball before joining the Braddock Road coaching team in 2010. She has been an assistant coach for Coach Colchao’s 16’s and 17’s Regional teams and 18 national team. She is excited to coach at the 15s level this year along a coach that was once her own.
Coach Franjie believes no matter how tall or short you are in order to succeed as a volleyball player one must have the passion, want and motivation to be the best!

Assistant Coach - Girls 16 American
Coach Richmond started her volleyball career as a youth on BRYC’s 1st Travel Volleyball team. She continued playing volleyball for Metro American Travel team for 15-17’s before returning to Braddock Road Volleyball Club as a MH on Coach Thompson’s 18’s Club team. She was a 3 year varsity player at Fairfax HS as a MH. Coach Richmond currently is in her senior year at George Mason where she plays on their Club Volleyball team.
This is Coach Richmond’s second year as Coach Thompson’s assistant coach. She is excited to joining him again coaching the Braddock Road 16’s National team.
Head Coach - Girls 17 NationalCoach Lutz will be entering his first year at the head coaching position after graduating from George Mason University in the spring of 2014. At Mason, he was a member of the Division I Men's Volleyball Team for 4 years, playing in 50 sets for the Patriots this past season and finishing the year with 137 kills and 10 service aces. Lutz is a native of Pennsylvania, where he led both his high school volleyball and soccer team to PIAA state championships in 2009. Starting volleyball as a freshmen in high school, he has continued to improve his game over the past few years under the direction of head coach Fred Chao. ?Lutz is excited for the opportunity to coach a high level of volleyball, implementing fundamentals and tactics learned throughout his career. He believes that hard work and work ethic are the most important aspects of succeeding on and off the court.
Assistant Coach - Girls 17 National
Coach Davis is the Girls Program Director and Co-Founder of Braddock Road Volleyball Club. He has over 20 years of combined volleyball experience as a player and coach. Coach Davis started his career in volleyball at the age of 10, playing in various church and recreation leagues in Eastern Pennsylvania. He went on to play in Middle School, High School and eventually on the Shippensburg University Men's Club Volleyball Team while pursuing a degree in Computer Science. After college and upon moving to Northern Virginia, Coach Davis continued to play in various recreation leagues and doubles tournaments.
In fall of 2007, Coach Davis began his coaching career as the varsity assistant coach at West Springfield High School and helped coach the Spartans to a Patriot District championship that year. Coach Davis then worked three years as the Junior Varsity Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach at West Springfield, from 2008 to 2010.
After the 2007 high school season, Coach Davis and Coach Thompson founded the Braddock Road Volleyball Club with a single 15s team. He has been an integral part to building the program into what it has become. Upon "retiring" from coaching during the high school volleyball season in 2010, Coach Davis became the club's Girls Program Director and is largely responsible for shaping the policies and direction of the girls program.
Coach Davis' role with the 17 National Team will be primarily administrative but will assist in practices with this and other teams as needed
Coach Davis is ASEP, VHSL, IMPACT and CAP I certified as well as Gold Medal Squared trained.

Head Coach - Girls 18 American
Coach Jeannette Fisher began her volleyball career when a Junior in High School. As captain of the 1982 AA State Championship team for Woodlawn High School, Baltimore County, Maryland Coach Fisher was selected to the All State and All - Metro team. Her club career began in the Chesapeake Region as a member of the Baltimore Juniors. After High School, Jeannette was a member of the George Mason University team. After suffering a shoulder injury she chose to concentrate on academics. However, her competitive nature and the love of the game brought her back. She played on a USVBA Team (now USVA) for Reston Volleyball. In addition, she played on a co-ed team and a Fairfax County adult league.
Following a several year break from the game to raise her five children, Jeannette returned to the sport. Now in her 6th season as a youth league coach, Coach Fisher is concentrating on teaching the game.
In her spare time, Coach Fisher enjoys singing with the Fairfax Choral Society and her Church Choir. And, from time to time, she can be found playing a good game of "pepper" with her children.

Assistant Coach - Girls 18 AmericanCoach Jackie Bumiller is very excited to be joining the Braddock Road Volleyball Club for the 2013-2014 season. Jackie began playing volleyball since her freshman year at Robinson High School where she played as a setter and libero. Jackie went on to play at NVVA, where she was a member of the National team for three years, and competed at Nationals in Salt Lake City in 2005. She was offered a position on the West Virginia University volleyball team after high school, but chose to attend George Mason University where she participated in the club volleyball program for one season. During college, Jackie coached at her high school alma mater, Robinson HS, at the Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity levels. While coaching at Robinson Jackie helped the Rams win two Concorde District Championships. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in history from George Mason University, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Education, with the goal of teaching high school history. Jackie looks forward to seeing each player develop and grow as the season progresses. Jackie is IMPACT certified.
Assistant Coach - Girls 18 American
Greg Rondepierre is in his seventh year coaching volleyball for Braddock Road. Greg is a big proponent of athletics for youth, and continues to stay active himself through adult tennis and softball leagues. He played varsity tennis in high school and lacrosse at the University of Arizona. It was his move to Arizona during high school where he discovered and played recreational volleyball.
Greg strives for and enjoys watching the growth of each of his players; not only in their physical ability, but in their mental makeup as well. He tries to get the most out of his players through positive reinforcement. He also enjoys handling the administrative duties for the team, such as tournament scheduling and game day coordination. He was also thrilled to have taken part in Olympic Gold Medalist, Pat Powers' recent clinic.
Greg is USAV IMPACT certified. He takes great pride in being a part of Braddock Road’s volleyball growth and mission.
Head Coach - Boys 12 RegionalCoach Burkett started playing volleyball in an after-school club in middle school, played on her high school team, played at Division III Maryville College, and has played club and recreation leagues regularly since moving to the area in 1988; she also played sand and grass doubles for many years. She has served as a USAV referee and scorekeeper. She coached a few clinics over the years and more recently, coached SYC's 4th-grade clinic for a year and an SYC elementary league team for one season. She served as Assistant Coach to the Boys 12s last year and is exited to coach again this season! Coach Burkett has also coached youth soccer and baseball over the past several years, has worked with youth in Cub Scouts and church groups, and is IMPACT certified.
Assistant Coach - Boys 12 RegionalJarkko Turunen has been involved with volleyball for more than 25 years. Originally from Finland, he has played competitive club volleyball in Finland, Germany and the United States, with teams ranging from B to AA levels. Jarkko has enjoyed coaching boys volleyball in the Mclean Vienna MVPower league for the past two seasons, is IMPACT certified and is excited to join the BRYC boys program as an assistant coach. Jarkko is married to Sarah and has three sons.
Head Coach - Boys 14 NationalHi, my name is Hugo Cespedes, I'm from Bolivia, I have three kids and I hope someday they will enjoy playing Volleyball the same way I do. I learned to play Volleyball when I was 12, since then it became part of my life. I was able to represent my school, city, and even my country on several occasions. While I was playing I also helped and coached the lower divisions of the club I was part of, and I still have a very close relationship with them. When I came to this country on 1999 I coached my son Alejandro 17, in soccer for several years. I've been playing here in different leagues and categories. Last year finally I started coaching a 14's boys team for NVVA, and we had a very good season. I'm very happy to be now part of BRYC and like always my goal will be to teach everything that I learned all this years, and let everybody enjoy this wonderful sport.
Head Coach - Boys 15 National
This is Phil’s eighth consecutive year of coaching junior girls. Last year, he co-coached the BRYC 15's National Elite.
As a coach, Phil emphasizes doing the right thing at the right time in the right way. He considers coaching to be a privilege and a terrific opportunity to help young players improve their volleyball, leadership, and communication skills, while also enhancing their mental preparedness, respect for teammates and opponents, and love for the game. He finds great enjoyment in helping players improve during the season and sharing their joy as they master new skills. Coaching 16's will be especially enjoyable because the players are enthusiastic, skilled, and anxious to improve.
Phil played USAV adult mens B/BB volleyball with Greg McIntyre and is a member of a senior mens volleyball team that finishes well at the US Adult Open Volleyball Championships .
Phil will co-coach with Greg McIntyre and Macara Oshida (Phil's daughter). Greg and Phil coached the BRYC 15's National Elite Team last year and look forward to coaching together again. Phil and Greg have been friends for many years and play on volleyball teams together. Macara is a recent college graduate and an English teacher and JV volleyball coach at Potomac High School. All three coaches are of “one mind” when playing together, which makes for an effective coaching and teaching trio. Their goals are to help the girls love the game and acquire the skills to excel in volleyball.
Phil is part of a volleyball family. Phil and his wife of 37 years, Sandy, met while playing recreational volleyball at California State University Long Beach. Their daughters Caitlin and Macara played volleyball for the University of Mary Washington/Woodson High School and BRYC/Woodson High School, respectively.
Phil is employed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where he works to protect the Nation's drinking water.

Head Coach - Boys 15 National
Victor Talamoa comes to BRYC from the Aloha Region (HI) and has been involved with volleyball for nearly 29 years. He played for Kamehameha High School and a number of local Hawaii club teams from B to Open level. In 1989, Victor played for the University of Hawaii Men's Volleyball Team. In 1994, he represented the Country of Western Samoa and competed in International play for a couple years.
Victor continues his love for volleyball through coaching youth and young adults. He has coached boys and girls for over 15 years at recreational, high school, and club levels of play. His passion is teaching the fundamentals of volleyball and assisting youth to grow in both their athletic and life skills.
Victor is married to Noelani for 21 years and has 3 children, Joshua, Zachary and Emma, who enjoy the game as well.
Head Coach - Boys 16 NationalCoach Jharred will be starting his first year with BRYC boys program after coaching the women’s side of the game at NOVA volleyball club. He began coaching at Penn State University where he was a part of the 2008 National Championship winning men’s team staff, as well as the head coach of the Penn State Club program where he had a 211 – 19 winning record. During his time at Penn State he was also a finalist for Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2012. Coach Jharred recently took over the Thomas Edison High School program where he took their team from a last place finish in 2012 to a 3rd place finish in 2013. As a player, Jharred made the 2012 NVCF conference team, as well as being voted the conference defensive player of the year, while leading the team in both aces and digs. Coach Jharred is excited to be joining the BRYC boys program and will bring enthusiasm and innovation to our club!
Assistant Coach - Boys 16 National
Jeanne Arcaro Baily has been coaching volleyball for over 28 years and has played a critical role in growing boys volleyball in the Northern VA area by starting a boys program with her husband under BRYC.
Jeanne was a standout player at the University of Maryland (Division I) as an outside hitter and backup setter. She was captain of her team during her senior year.
Jeanne is an IMPACT Certified and CAP I certified volleyball coach. She has coached men's, women's and junior teams since 1985. Her first men's team (all new players) went from the worst in USAV at the "B" level to winning the USAV Men's "B" Regional's the same year.
Jeanne has played at the National level in Women's Open and Co-ed Open, placing 2nd in a Coed Open event. She competed at the USAV Nationals in the Women's 40s Division for 5 years, playing against ex-nationals players from the US, Canada, Brazil and Venezuela, placing 4th in two of the events.
Volleyball has taken her all over the United States and outside the country (she was a player coach on a women's team that placed 1st in a tournament in the Cayman Islands.)
Although Jeanne still plays volleyball, her passion is now coaching. She enjoys using her experience to motivate and challenge young players. Her training sessions are highly energized and never boring. She pushes her players to be the best that they can be, while still having fun! Jeanne is a true ambassador of the sport of volleyball.
Head Coach - Boys 17 National
Rob Baily has been involved in the great sport of volleyball for more than 25 years. Starting out as a player on a Club Team in Colorado, Rob earned a scholarship to George Mason University (GMU) where he played in the 1988 Final Four team earning Athletic and Academic All American honors. After graduating from GMU, he continued to compete on top level USA Volleyball clubs on the East Coast in the role player coach and Team Captain. Rob's teams have competed and placed in the Open Division at Nationals. He also is an avid beach and grass volleyball player with dozens of tournament wins including stops on the Toyota Pro Beach Volleyball tour, USA Grass Nationals, the Mother Lode in Aspen, CO and the Pottstown Rumble (the toughest grass tournament in the country) where he has won 6 times, most recently at the age of 37. His kids have grown up watching the sport and joining in whenever the opportunity has arisen and Rob loves sharing the game with them and other kids who have an interest in volleyball, which is a game for life.
Rob serves as the director for the boys program since helping start it at BRYC for the 2010-11 season. He has a passion for teaching and the desire to give local boys more opportunities to play, coaching U12 and U14 teams since the program was founded.
He is currently IMPACT and CAP I certified.

Corrie's volleyball experience spans 38 years as a player and coach, having both played and coached on National Qualifying teams at the Open Division. His playing time includes UMD Mens Club Team, USVBA indoor and beach, Men's Open Division in MN, CA KS. Corrie has coached Girl's High School in Davis CA, a Women's International Team at Ft. Leavenworth, KS and over the past 12 years has coached club teams in St.Louis MO and Northern Virginia along with the Boys Varsity and Girls Freshman and JV High School teams at Paul VI High School in Fairfax, VA.
In addition to coaching, Corrie has run and has assisted in running several volleyball camps in various states.
